Our Experience
I went to the Dooney’s Pub location in Delran today. We were seated within twenty minutes. We walked in and saw festive green decor and shamrocks around the pub. People were dressed in green with things with accessories such as beads, hats and shamrock sunglasses. There was a bagpiper there who did a great job at playing while also walking around the restaurant so that many patrons were able to see him.
After we were seated in their side room we ordered the potato leek soup and Irish nachos from their regular menu that were both tasty. The Irish nachos were a huge portion that could have been eaten by four people.
Soon after being seated the Irish step dancers started to perform from the Emerald Isle Academy of Irish Dance. It was impressive how they could maneuver in a tight area for some of their bigger dances and also perform around the pub as well. They were even dancing between rows of tables. We were able to see some of them through the doorway and periodically walk over to catch portions of their performances. One girl could even kick above her head! Everyone was amazingly talented.
Towards the time we were leaving we also caught a few songs by the Birmingham Six band that had just started playing. It was an Irish American rocknroll band that played some upbeat music. I really liked the unique instruments they brought as well. Everyone was enjoying their sound and their music was drawing even more people into the pub. We had a great time at Dooney’s today. Be sure to visit one sometime soon if you have not had the chance yet.
