Delran Winter Festival

Are you looking for a free Christmas related activity to do in Burlington County? Look no further! The Delran Winter Festival is one that we love to attend.

When looking for a Christmas event we are looking for the unicorn. We are looking for an event that is not too mobbed, where everything we want to do is free and where you can still experience some Christmas magic. This event meets all of our criteria. We have already attended this event on three different years.

My Favorite Unique Aspects of this Festival

The Bonfire

I love anything related that has fires in the winter so this is a no-brainer. This event usually has one of the biggest bonfires I have seen at a winter event. There are plenty of fire personnel on hand nearby.

Free Printed Out Photos with Santa

Going to a mall to get a photo with Santa can be a slog and often pricey as well. Here you can get your picture taken with Santa for free and given a printed copy. Santa often gives out candy canes as well.

Free Hot Cocoa

Hot cocoa is a glorious drink on a cold winter night. Often they are giving out free sweet treats as well such as cookies. There are plenty of food trucks on hand as well if you have not had your dinner yet.

Free Crafts

These are often inside of the tent. My kids had fun making these mittens last year. One year they also had games that kids could play outside to win prizes. My daughter loved that she won two reindeer unicorn and that she could give one to her friend.

How does Santa arrive?

Santa usually arrives on a fire truck, courtesy of the Delran Fire Department. He then does the tree lighting at the top of the hill. All the kids are usually running up and down the hill due to the excitement.

Are there other fun things to do at this event?

Yes! There is Christmas music playing. The kids have fun dancing while they wait in the photo line. There is also often free face painting. Usually tables are set up by area organizations as well such as the Delran Green Team.

What to Wear

We usually love to wear light-up Christmas light necklaces such as these since this event occurs at night: Christmas Necklace.

Since this is a colder event one year we wore hats with reindeer antlers: Warm Hat Reindeer Antlers.

One year the kids forgot their regular hats. Luckily we had some Santa hats in the car: Santa Hat. Their heads stayed warm and they looked super cute in them.

For the picture with Santa you can all try and wear nicer coats or matching colors. Remember the picture will be taken outdoors.

Other Things to Do in the Area

Head to Lights on Tarlton to see their Christmas Light Display! They have a 14 song playlist this year.

There is a Breakfast with Santa from 8:00 am to 11:30 am on December 7th, 2024 at the Delran Fire Company #2. Each person should bring $5 for a ticket or an unwrapped toy to donate.
