Larger Than Life

Have you ever hoped that all of your favorite boy bands would go on tour together? Dreams can come true! Check out Larger Than Life: The #1 Boyband Experience.

Larger than Life: The #1 Boyband Experience after their performance in Cherry Hill Township, New Jersey.

What kind of music do they perform?

This band performs boyband music and music from different male groups throughout different decades. They play music from LFO, Backstreet Boys, the Beatles, 98 Degrees, NSYNC, the Jackson Five, O-Town, Boyz II Men, the Temptations and more! There is music for everyone to enjoy. Their performances are definitely an experience since they even have costumes, dance moves, engage the crowd with dancing and go out into the crowd.

Where does the group perform?

The group originally started in New York and now they go all around the country. This is the only band of its kind in the US.

Our Experience seeing

Larger Than Life in Cherry Hill

This is the band Larger than Life: The #1 Boyband Experience performing at Music Under the Stars in Cherry Hill Township.

When I was in middle school I really enjoyed music from *NSYNC. I remember watching their show in Madison Square Garden on tv and practicing the dance moves at home. I was a counselor in training at camp during the summer. I learned some choreography to teach my second grade campers for a Talent Show routine to the Space Cowboys song. My sister was a Backstreet Boys fan so I taught her and a friend some Backstreet Boys choreography.

Last year I heard that there were rumors that *NSYNC may do a tour again. Unfortunately they did not check out but this made me wonder if there were any other groups that did any of their songs. This summer my wish came true. Cherry Hill has a Music Under the Stars concert series in the summer. I saw that the band playing on July 30th was called Larger than Life: The Boy Band Experience. I decided to attend and take the kids with me as well since boy band music is generally good for most ages.

We arrived at Barclay Farmstead in Cherry Hill. The area closest to the event was blocked off for handicap parking but we were easily able to find parking in the neighborhood. It was a really pretty area with giant sunflowers and the Barclay Farmstead Living History Museum. The stage was already set up when we arrived and we were easily able to set up our camp chairs in the second row. There were some community organizations at tables on the side, food trucks at the back and port-a-potties available as well as a beer garden.

The band came out and I was immediately excited upon seeing their white outfits with sequined vests. They started out faced away from the audience. As soon as the music for the song Everybody started the crowd was already getting amped. The group broke out into lots of choreography sequences that were amazing to watch. I have personally always thought it was difficult to dance and sing at the same time so I am always impressed when people can pull this off.

Their performance was amazing since it was fast-paced and also went through lots of different music from groups over a few decades. People of all ages were having a gala time. I knew all of the songs except for two of them and it was great to be able to sing along to the music. Some of the songs in the show performed were Can’t Help My Self, She Loves You, Summer Girls and Bye Bye Bye. There were also mash-ups of multiple songs. Two of my favorites they performed pieces of were Poison and No Diggity. My daughter was excited that they even did a Spice Girls song towards the end.

They were able to get the crowd up and dancing for the Apache (Jump on It), Macarena and Saturday Night Fever. They also would periodically go out into the lawn to sing. They even had an audience member sing a chorus. Kids were having fun high-fiving the members as they walked amongst the crowd. By the end of the night everyone was in front of the stage dancing and having a great time. The only bad part of their performance was when it was over since everyone wanted the fun to continue. I hope they return to Cherry Hill next year. I would highly recommend seeing this band at an upcoming show or booking them for an event.
